Consortium agreement on Microsatellites of Maritime pine

Pinus Pinaster SSR Web page
The general goals of the consortium are:
  • The development (enriched library construction, clone sequencing, primer design, PCR optimisation) of a battery of microsatellite markers for maritime pine.
  • The construction of a microsatellite-based linkage map for maritime pine.

    The targeted applications are:
  • marker-aided selection of maritime pine breeding programmes
  • description and structuration of genetic diversity of maritime pine
  • Forensic (quantification of contamination in seed orchard, clone/cross identification etc...)
The specific objective of the present consortium is first to purchase an enriched library of simple sequence repeats (SSRs, or microsatellites) of Maritime Pine, to a private company (the provider).
This library will be enriched for two di-nucleotides ( AC, AG) and two tetra-nucleotides (AAAT, AAAC). Second objective for each contractor is to sequence a minimum of 100 clones from this library and provide the sequences and primers to the members of the consortium via a web site with restricted access, constructed by the administrative coordinator.
