The international conference closing the FORSEE project that took place in Porto was a success. Gathering more than 70 participants from about 10 different countries, it was in a very convivial environment that the FORSEE partners shared their experiences about the indicators for sustainable management. Several works were presented during this conference, the abstracts and presentations will be available on the IEFCweb site . The best presentations will be published on a special number of a scientific magazine, and in March all the works will be put on-line together with the regional reports of the project.
The regional outputs will be done the 30th of January in Castilla y léon, the 15th of February in Navarre and the 6th of March in Aquitaine.
A new INTERREG project for the IEFC
The DEFOR project (for the forest development) was just approved by the INTERREG SOE. The objective of this project, with a grant of 760000 from the FEDER, and having as partners the regions of Aquitaine, Asturias, Galicia and Portugal, is to set up examples of transfer of innovation towards the small and medium enterprises and foresters. In each region new tools will be developed in partnership with the members of the IEFC and the small and medium enterprises, on several subjects such as: the groups logistic, the development of the hardwoods production and the computerization of nurseries for quality controls.
