In line with the ClimEssences project, ADEME, the French Agency for Environment and Energy Management, has funded the production of several videos to foster better awareness about the impacts of climate change on forests and to highlight the contributions of  sylvo-climatic tools.

Resulting from the collaboration between the ONF (French National Forest Bureau) and the CNPF (French National Forest Property Centre), with the support of the partners of the AFORCE network (French network for the adaptation of forest to climate change), these videos will be gradually posted on the AFORCE website.

The European Institute of Planted Forest believes that this public awareness and outreach initiative can be replicated in other European countries by capitalising on the various local actors involved in sustainable development and the forestry sector.

Here are  the first two videos (in French) aimed to promote better understanding of the phenomena responsible for climate change and their impacts on forests:

1. Understand the greenhouse effect and the impacts of human activities on the Earth’s climate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8i-CEy1rcc&t=626s

2. Understand the consequences of rising temperatures and the impact of climate change on the health of forests, as well as the various roles of forests in the carbon cycle, which help mitigate the effects of climate change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdYhXQ-0fZg
