The transnational project DEFOR initiated in June 2006 aims at diffusing new forestry technologies to small enterprises with an objective of sustainable development and enhancement of the competitiveness of South West Europe forestry.
The innovation transfer program concerns the entire wood chain: improvement of seedling and plant production (Portugal, Spain), new harvesting methods in mountainous areas, improvement of wood supply logistic (France) and development of precious wood production in Valencia (Spain). Each action is demonstrated in pilot sites in each of the 3 participating countries.

The project will be completed in June 2008. Two demonstrations will be held in November to illustrate the first results obtained in two specific actions. These visits are open to all.
